Veins Iced Over
How could Alligator Jackson not like a band from Alligator Alley, Florida? That's home base for Veins Iced Over. And I gotta tell you straight up...they rock. Along with San Diego's Cage, Veins Iced Over is the future of US power metal. Judas Priest, King Diamond, and has passed the torch. Veins Iced Over's music is scalding hot.
Soon Veins Iced Over will have a massive following of Metal Fockers. "Metal Fockers" is the anthemic rocker that closes out "The Awakening" with a bang. The cd starts triumphantly with the instrumental "The Awakening". The opener transitions perfectly into "Unholy". "Unholy" is a scorching power metal rocker. The lead singer, Voz, sounds like Klaus Meine from the Scorpions singing the Judas Priest songbook. He brings an interesting voice, and an excellent one as well. "Unholy" gets your attention fast.
"Holy Water' continues the metal pummeling. Again, sounding like early Scorpions mixed with "Painkiller" era Judas Priest. The cd is full of urgent shredding with a dual guitar attack and thrash vocals. "Purgatory" captures Priest power chords and is another instant metal classic. Catchy as a metal song comes.
This is a tremendous solo cd and the first of a set of four concept cds. Take it from The Gator: this is pure quality, from the musicians to the production. The future of power metal is secure!!! Power metal chomps on into the future with the new wave of American power metal.
